I've often heard that RS-232 baudrates must be accurate to +1%/-2% (or was it +2%/-1%). Anyway, the following web site discusses this and they came to same conclusion that I did. If you can get everything with 1%, communications will be OK.
http://www.seetron.com/ser_an1.htm Remember that the transmitter and receiver must be considered in this situation. So, if the transmitter is off by +2% and the receiver is off by -2%, there are likely to be problems. Jon |
