Do, please, be aware that printf is a very powerful function indeed - as should be obvious from the fact that its documentation runs to several pages:

This can be very convenient but, of course, that comes at a cost - and the cost is that the code required to implement printf is quite large.
eg, you can easily use-up most of your 2K evaluation limit just by using printf!
