#147832 - A good one ! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
First of all accept my apologies about my brain-fart at the POR of this thread. Just could not resist... have been toggling the PDP switches too much I guess.
Actually I have been thinking of making a very similar thing to update my antenna rotor controller which is sitting on top of a 20 meter high radio mast. The MCU is an Atmel 8535 but the principle is the very same. However, why use EEPROM ? The power consumption of CMOS RAM would be neglible and You could keep the MCU also powered by putting it into hibernation so no additional RAM retention logic would be needed. This is a temporary storage for data after all so You seldomly have a situation where You have to retain the data for 2 years and still need to program something with it without reloading the batteries. I was reading Your code and it seems that You have commented out the retry of designated MCU in there. Was this intentional or (this is propably the case) was it me who was not able to read Your code correctly ? |
