What is wrong with buying surplus?
Does surplus not mean: 'somebody purchased the stock and has no use for it now, and so is selling it'? Why would it not be as good as new stock? an example: I have a couple of thousand AT89C55 laying around, purchased by my 'optimistic' predecessor. The product my predecessor bought them for sell about 10 a year. Thus, I could easily sell, say a thousand, as "surplus". HOWEVER, knowing the guy, I am sure that the chips he blew were put back in the sticks (that would transfer the paperwork to production). That would be just one to five of the thousand, but if you bought just one, who is to say you would not get one of the bad ones. Another problem with a 'surplus mentatlity' is that it keeps you years behind the curve, there is very little, if any, surplus of current technology. Erik |
