Dear All,
I thank you all for your nice and kind sugestions.Meanwhile,I have solved the problem.It was the redundant ULN2803 in the row port.I am sorry to have hinted a blame on AT89S52 which is actually GREAT!! so much so that it tolerates my laziness in reading its particular datasheet.So at the cost of adding a " cpl a" before whereever "mov rowprt,a" appeared in my code I saved a lot in the hardware of the "commercial design"(my foot,sorry).
