IIRC, the 805x handbook that Intel published back in the early '80's (maybe it was the 8048-series handbook) had a moving LED display as an example, code and all.
Now, I'd be first to admit that it's a far cry from a PCB that scans a matrix of LED's so as to present a static or moving text display, to a marketable product useable in an app such as the bus destination sign that you showed a few days back. If someone has a way of raising that app-note in PDF or other net-transportable format, that might solve the O/P's homework problem. RE |
