The engineer is out of town and unavailable to do the work. I have been entrusted to make an educated stab at it. Some day (this week?) the Philips tech and I will make the connection and I will (hopefully) get the answer, if I can't figure it out on my own. In the mean time I am given another day to seek the answer. During a call today he said he would grind the manuals next week when he gets back if I can't do it. In fact, he will anyways because he wants to take advantage of some features in these chips.

Actually, I find it encouraging (maybe even flattering) that he would hand me the job in expectations of my succeeding.
