#111321 - Why use a PUT? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Why can you not trigger the SCR from the 8051? What function does the PUT perform? What sort of SCR? Specs for the device. There's no real magic in driving SCRs apart from knowing the gate characteristics in order to trigger them. Triggering a C106 SCR versus a SKKT56 differs due to the amount of current involved. Does anyone use PUTs (programmable unijunction transistors) anymore? I'd have to think really hard for a part number for one of these devices! In days gone by, one would use these devices for timing, but with a 8051 in the picture, it is best to have it handle the timing. |
