#109969 - Reinstall driver
Responding to: ???'s previous message
This sounds a lot like a problem I have had a couple of times with an XP machine. It suddenly didn't want to talk to a device connected to its serial port, saying the port was not available. Checking device manager, it said all was well. Somehow it decided the port was busy and not available for use, when it really wasn't busy.

I finally just deleted the device and rebooted. It found "new hardware", reinstalled the drivers and we went back to work.
