Do not confuse the sugestions.

Steve is saying 1 timer Interupt, no button Interupts
even 20ms timer wakes up CPU sets flag (maybe). read buttons and update the time in main.

I said 1 timer Interupt, 2 button Interupts. set flags then update in main.
