Are you asking for interface level or overall PS requirements?
For standard LCD controllers like HD44780,KS0073 etc You must have 5V to supply contrast circuitry. The standard LCD controller (HD44780, KS0073) usually supports only CMOS level, so to control with lower voltage supplied MCUs you need open drain output configuration. Be aware that MCU must be 5V tolerant. g |
