I agree with the others that Copyright is probably not an issue here - but I am not a Lawyer (and neither, I suspect, are they).
However, if this unit is from a "well known manufacturer" this probably means that they have a bigger legal budget than you - so, if they decide they want to stop you, they will probably find a way. I have no idea how likey that may be - but it's another risk you need to consider.
