I don't like Darlingtons very much, because of their rather high collector emitter saturation voltage. This can result in some unsane heat dissipation.
From the days I did such stuff, I seem to recall that there is an ULN look-alike where the "darlington input stage" use a separate collector supply (with a resistor, of course) bringing the VceSat down to the one transistor value. Do I even recall tyhe manufacturer, sorry no. I hope that bringing up the existence of the part will make someone remember the designation for the benefit of Abdul et al. Erik |
