#107401 - Weird 'flashcode' problem on P89C51RD2BA
Since several years I use the P89C51RDHBA without problems (mind the 'H' which is an older version). Our latest software is running fine on this part. But when I flash the same software into the newer P89C51RD2BA (no 'H', with 4K flash blocks) some parts of the code do not work any more. I found out that moving that bad working code out of the 4K boundaries (16 bytes before and after) software is running fine again. When verifying the code with flashmagic and by software the code is correct and datatables across those boundaries are read out correctly. I do not use any of the new features of the 'RD2BA'. I got also 2 parts of a newer batch, but with the same bad result.

I contacted the technical support at Philips, but they do not know this problem. I'm still in discussion with them but cannot wait too long to be sure of my 'solution'.

Has somebody seen similar weird problems with the P89C51RD2 ?
Thanks for your response.

Koen
