As Andy has replied you in your another thread, please be very specific and clear in your questions. My reply is not to discourage you, but there are some ethics to be followed.

Now I would try to answer to your question:

What is the input voltage to 7805? How did you find that the regulator alone eating 3.2mA? Did you measure the no load input current? What is the max load current you would derive from the regulator? Did you check out the datasheet of the regulator for its quiescent power dissipation? The spec-sheets say that 6mA is nominal quiescent current, @ 25deg Celcius.

If you answer by yourself that using a low dropout regulator will mitigate your problem, then why hesitating?
