But it's enough to look at your original post and see that the semicolon was missing ! Why did you add it after ?

ohh so thats the mistake Jan was talking about , I DID NOT add it afterwards, because if you read my post carefuly you would notice that

MOV T2MOD,#02H ;initialising timer 2 as auto-reload 16 bit
MOV T2CON,#4CH timer, counting upwards

the description infront of code is ONE SENTENCE and Jan only copied

MOV T2CON,#4CH timer, counting upwards

which obviously looks wrong but infact "timer, counting upwards" is part of sentence in line above which has semicolon before it and while i copy and pasted it here, it end up in 2 lines. I am sorry about that but it was none of my fault and I won't blame Jan as well.

but the problem remains the same. i think we know what the problem is so please could someone present a solution.
