While the bible routine works great for all of you, you have
to understand that a large document (even assuming it could be opened on this computer) is usually somewhat intimidating, at least for me. .... But alas, if we all memorized and understood "the bible", I have worked with embedded for more years than I care to disclose and my print copy of "the bible" is more than 10 years old. Regardles, I still have to refer to "the bible" occasionally. The point of "the bible" is not that anyone should (or could) memorize it, but that is an excellent source to refer to. As to being intimidating, the way ch 1-3 are organized, you need only 222 milliseconds to decide which chapter to refer to, that cuts the "intimidation" by 1/3. Today, as opposed to when it was only in book form, you can find all references to e.g. SBUF by a click of a mouse. At least you can in the links I refer to. If you happen to have the scanned version, discard it and download the "electronic format" first 3 chapters. even assuming it could be opened on this computer When that was what I had I opened "the bible" by the links I use on my 24Mb 330 MHz PC, I doubt you have anything less. It can be tedious to download "the bible" on a dial up line, but do it overnight and save it on your disk. Erik |
