- proper startup/shutdown/transition to the "flashing yellow" state (the lights I know throw all red in all directions for a few seconds at these transitions)
- link to a different nearby system, for example we have a relatively big streets crossing just a few metres from a railway crossing, and the lights are (have to be) linked with the railway signals - bulb (or other light source) monitoring and reaction upon failure I bet there are much more of these. And this all is trivial compared to the linked and adaptive systems, yet not so trivial to achieve JW |
