Ahh, ok, that makes sense. I thought the Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) was something fairly complex, but apparently it isn't. Initially, that was the main reason I was looking at using the AD597. Just have to add the measured TC temperature to the actual temperature to get the 'hot' TC temperature. I found an app note from Microchip re: Interfacing to a thermocouple, as well as doing the CJC in software from a seperate temperature probe. http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads...00844a.pdf Seems relatively easy, and much more feasible compared to going the SPI route.
