#126982 - Anyone know of 0v - +15v IIC ADC? |
Does anyone know of an IIC ADC that can handle analog voltages of 0v-15v? Conversion speed is not an issue.
I'm using a Type-K thermocouple to measure exhaust temperature in vehicles. I'm planning on using a chip such as the AD597 (http://www.analog.com/UploadedF...597_b.pdf) to condition the thermocouple output. The only problem is, to get the highest temperature span, the TC conditioner ICs require a +15v supply (look at page 3 for temperature vs. output voltage). I don't need to be able to read negative temperatures. I've found quite a few SPI ADCs that would work, but I'd like to stick with IIC. This ADC (and a couple others) will be mounted in a different box than the F120, and I don't quite have room for all the extra signal lines SPI requires. With IIC I only need two signal lines. With SPI, I will need 6 (3 signal, 3 Chip select). I've looked at all the manufactures sites I could think of, and haven't found any wide voltage IIC ADCs. If anyone knows of any, or a different approach I should consider, please let me know. Thanks, -Dave |
