A RS485 cable is supposed to be 2 wires (A&B)+ GND(recomended), if so, what is the second cable mentioned in your post? It's not uncommon that the units are in chain, i.e. a cable is coming out of "right connector" on unit 1 into "left connector" on unit 2, then a cable goes from "right connector" on unit 2 into "left connector" of unit 3 etc. The RS485 A&B lines and ground of both "left" and "right" connector are connected on the unit. I don't know if this is any clearer... JW |
