I use specifically dual SCRs in a single package as part of my furnace control system, but I cheat anyway, and buy the whole high power drive packaged ona nice heatsink - 0-5 V in =0-100% firing, Filter, fuses, the lot, for around 300 USD,
The dual SCR has the advantage that one half is doing nothing for half a cycle, which give it much longer to recover than inside a triac. Steve |
