My approach is that since the externals work with a different amplifier I would not disturb them until I had at least found the source of the error signal. Also I suspect that the O/P has little or no knowledge of the construction of the load cell area ( his statement about the engineers suggests this) so I felt it was better to tackle identifying the source from within his own area.
