#99697 - on interconnect Responding to: ???'s previous message |
This is build on a 4 layer PCB Good
and housed in a plastic box not so good, can you use magnoresistant metal? I will connect these two parts with a ribboncabel and a single 1 mm2 (yellow/green) wire for ground. I recommend that every other wire in the ribbon be ground. Now the question: Is a 74HC14 sufficient to drive the ribboncable? That sure depend on the distance. If it is a few centimetres, sure. I do, as a principle, use 74H buffers (74h24x) for anything that leave the box and does not go too far, for those cases where the distance is more than, say, 25cm I use 74AS24x. In either case I use 74h14 (schmitts) as receivers. If the distance get even more I use RS422/485 transcievers - not used as rs485 but as differential, terminated line drivers and receivers, that configuration can handle most everything. Is a 74HC14 ..... as a rule, when 5V only, I use 74H (no C) they have a better noise margin. Ha' en god weekend samme til dig. Erik |
