If you have 2 usb ports, why not supply the converter from the othet USb port? An USB port is supposed to supply 500mA at 5V.
Beware of the USB-232 converters, several posts have appeared in various places "brand x does not work with Flash magic, brand y does" Now a days laptops dont have serial ports I will be using a USB to Serial Converter for programming. There is a dead simple way to isolate then - unplug the laptop from the mains during programming :) Erik |
