You can bit-bang the FTDI chips' pins at your will - see appnotes at the ftdi website. No processor needed, just a bit of software in PC.
Anyhow, all USB-COM converters should have at least 3 outputs - Tx, RTS, DTR (although maybe not at 5V level). Jan Waclawek |
