Bit 2 stuck at 0; this allows to use INC AUXR1 to toggle DPS without changing GF3. ... Why bit2? This renders bit1 useless. Why not bit1 stuck at 0?
Who cares ONE iota - and, if you want to find out, do your own research. http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resou...oc4127.pdf states clearly that AUXR1 bit 1 is "reserved for data pointer expansion". We can all spend hours upon hours wondering why a chip is designed in a certain way, I suggest you start learning to use what you have instead of wondering why it is so. Erik |
