#92549 - Maxim DS1232 reset circuit question |
Hi,
When looking at the datasheet of the DS1232 of Maxim (http://pdfserv.maxim-ic.com/en/ds/DS1232.pdf), there's an app note regarding the use of this device in combination with the 8051. When looking at figure 2, pg 3, one can see there's a link between the ALE pin of the 8051 and the ST pin of the monitor IC. My question: what has ALE to do with decent power management of the 8051? Does someone know why this connection is made? Curious... Best rgds, --Geert |
