#807 - Q: Programming the AT89LS8252 internal Flash |
I'm thinking about doing a home built project using the Atmel AT89LS8252. I would like to use the on-board 8K flash to hold a monitor program that can be used to write code to an external Flash using the rs-232 port. Then I could use jumpers to either boot from the internal flash and run the monitor, or boot from the external flash and run my program. The problem I'm trying to solve is "how do I initially program the 8K of internal flash?" I know Atmel has an app note about this but they use the AT89C2051 to do the programming which to me leads to the same question "Now, how do I initailly program the AT89C2051 so that I can program the AT89LS8252?" Is there an easier way to program the AT89LS5252 with out having to design an additional project? Could I use an LPT port on my computer to simulate an SPI device and program the internal flash that way? Has anyone tried anything like this?
Thanks, Mike |
