#565 - RE: Which 8051 C Compiler?
Hi Marc,

I hope, the grey hairs are the result of bad tools, not of the 8051.
architecture :-)

I use the Keil C51. But since good compilers not cheap (>= 1000$),
I try no other. I was watching on the Philips 51 forum and found the
Keil as the most used and also with the best estimation.
I can also say, it works good.
Also using assembler and C together works good.
There is an IDE under Windows available, but I prefer a
batch job in the DOS box.

If you want, you can send me a C source and I can compile it
and then I tell you the usage of RAM and ROM.
So you can compare it with other compilers.
