That was a conditional expression - the if is key!

I didn't say that I knew anything;
I didn't say that I was assuming anything;
I just offered the suggestion, "what if..."

Other conditional phrases that you need to look out for are:

  • perhaps...
  • maybe...
  • might...
  • may/might be...
  • assuming...
  • consider...

    and words such as:

  • possibly...
  • guess...
  • presume...
