#146412 - and who, but a hobbyist should care Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Wow! That's cheaper than the little 8051-based LPC932 kit!
:-0 who, but a hobbyist should care about the price of a devboard, if the chip is $2 less. Ap has stated "we are going to use ... for production" and then complains about a $68 debugging/programming interface. If you are producing what does the cost of tools matter, if you make 10.000 thingies, the cost of e.g. Keil is $0.20 per unit. Now, someone is going to say "but we only plan to make 50 thingies, so it is not $0.20". True, but how does the cost of a tool compare to the cost of 100 hours of engineering time. I would NEVER do professional work in an environment where a few 100s tool cost would make management tell me to be without. Erik |
