Back in May I discovered this same issue, but was assured by Bob Recny at FTDI that one could zero-pad the most significant bits of the frame to fill out 16 bits.
Bob seems very knowledgable about this device. He's at bob.recny@ftdichip.com By the way, I ended up going with the FIFO interface as well... -db |
