#1438 - RE: Runtime erreor |
Hi Steve,
its known as the overflow error: Some programs / compilers generate delays by delay loops. And at first they must adjust a value, which represent a delay of 1msec. But on 333MHz the counter exeed 16 (or 32 ?) bit and an overflow occur. Then the program stops with an error message. E.g. I have a DOS game with such an error. Only on reducing the CPU speed it starts. But unfortunately it run very slow and without sound in the DOS box. It need also the pure DOS mode, but then the power management can not be used and the the CPU works always with full speed. And then the overflow error message was displayed. If anybody has a DOS tool to reduce the CPU speed, Im very pleased, if I can get it. Peter |
