#136205 - what about searching?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
The "classical" '51 answer is Wagner Lipnharski's code at http://www.ustr.net/infrared/index.shtml . Read it carefully, the timing is done so that it requires a specific crystal!!! But of course you are free just to get inspired and rewrite it for a different crystal value.

However, entering a few proper keywords into your favorite web search machine, or maybe even better, here into the search box on this page, will give you tons of references. For example, http://www.8052.com/forum/thr...ead=109984 , ultimately resulting in a link to the same Wagner's code - this time bold and colored by Andy... :-)

PS. Looking at Wagner's company's mainpage, I see, he is one of the heretics too... (approved ATMEL AVR Consultant)

PS2. One interesting slightly related page: http://ruckl.wz.cz/egon_en/egon_en.php
