Not just you :) Actually for some of the less price sensitive project I'm working on, I've been looking at the AT89C51AC3. They're still only around $12.00. I like the PCA and ADC features (at least on paper). There is an urban legend that SILabs chip are very costly. Here is half the price of Atmel. For such as you describe have a look at SILabs You get peripherals coming out the jing and in the jang. just stay away from the f3xx deviates, the derivatives (f0xx, f1xx, f2xx) are great. one example (pinched from DigiKey C8051F044 IC 8051 MCU 64K FLASH 100TQFP 64K x 8 Flash 4352 x 8 RAM 64 I/O pins 100-TQFP 25MHz one clocker @ $6.45 qty 1. and from SILabs CAN2.0B, 2 UARTs, SMBus, SPI 5 6 2.0% precise internal osc 10-bit, 13ch., 100ksps A/D PGA, 3 comparators. for the whole story http://www.silabs.com/public/do...51F04x.pdf I, personally, use the f12x/f13x series, they are quite pricey, but you get 100MHz one clock performance and more peripherals than you can use http://www.silabs.com/public/do...2x-13x.pdf Erik |
