Nope, it is just old. Boy, Oleg, NOW I feel old ;-) I remember when I was working in Austin, TX and the Atmel rep brought these brand new FLASH devices by: The AT89C51... It was the reason that we stopped using Philips (actually Signetics at the time) for the 8051 (P87C51CCN40?). No more windowed parts for prototyping, no more eprom erasers, it really changed things. I think I still have a few of those original engineering samples. I also have the old data book (also my skinny Signetics/Philips book too that is now refered to as the bible) that lists the AT89S8252 as the "Preliminary Data". That's something that I DO miss... Printed Data Books! BTW Oleg, thanks for the pointer to the AT89EB5114. I had looked at that device, but the lack of a UART makes it unusable for my needs. Actually for some of the less price sensitive project I'm working on, I've been looking at the AT89C51AC3. They're still only around $12.00. I like the PCA and ADC features (at least on paper).
