I thought that with the event of ISP we could end these endless discussions about "kitchen table programming" that makes legions of "tested" ideas come out of the woodwork.

It is, indeed, amazing that Atmel managed to create ISP in such a way that these discussions still go on to this extent.

can somebody, please, pretty please enter, NOT a "tested" Atmel ISP interface, BUT something that states "this works by design, not just because it has been tested, but if you substitue anything it will not" in the FAQs?
When that has happened and there is an absolute reference, let everybody just answer by referring to it.
