#108993 - ISP programming software
Hello,

I just read topics about ISP programming. I am trying to build a ISP cable, but it does not work. I use software from atmel and device is 89s53. can you please give me some answers?

1. is this software ok for XP? I searched the manual, they say about win98, 2000, ME, but nothing about XP.
2. do I need to install some drivers for parallel port interfacing under XP?
3. I use 11.059 MHz crystal. How do I enter this value since program accepts only integer of MHz? Is this parameter important?
4. after all topics I am a bit confused - what is best to use for notebook+5volt applications: LS, HC or HCT chips?
5. How do I setup lpt port: standard, bidirectional or EPP (ECP)?
6. Is the lenght of the cable important? I want to use about 1.5m of cable. I used some dos program which worked fine under win98. I guess communication there was not so quit. Is there any software that has slower communication?

thanks for your help!

Damjan
