#107009 - Smart Card Solution Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Atmel has quite a bit of this stuff as do others. For non-money applications you can use something as simple as EEPROM cards that operate exactly like EEPROM chips (I2C, SPI). For money oriented operations you are going to need something more secure. The first question I ask is, how do they get the money on the card in the first place? Are you designing that too or is it done via a PC? If it's done on a PC then you will need to follow the standard set by the existing hardware/software on the PC. If you are doing it from scratch then you already are facing the issue of receiving the cash from either a cash or coin reader or perhaps a credit card transaction. |
