#101991 - Connect the pin that measure +400mV to 4 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Ok, I have measured the voltages on the pins, pin 4 is -400mV and pin5 is +400mV, so I guess its 232? What type of cable do I need for this?
and But if i am to make the cable or buy it what pins go where? Will i be able to use a cisco rollover cable, or just a straight through with a converter. Another question as well, does the 485 only use 2 pins on the Rj45, because there were only 2 voltage outputs like you said. Connect the pin that measure +400mV to 485 A on the B & B converter. connect the pin that measure -400mV to 485 b on the B & B 485 to 232 converter. Connect ground to ground. Insert the 232 side of the B & B converter in your PC. Start trying various baud rates in hyperterminal till it becomes legible (in places). Erik |
