I think there should be a -1 for "Rude"... what I think 4-letter words usage is, whoever and whatever the situation is. There is a lot of unnecessary emotions built up here. As it's better to move on than stop shouting at each other, let me put a couple of thought for OP - please correct me:

- yes, the baudrate setting seems to be OK (57k6/8N) (indeed, nobody answered this easy question...)
- I did not realize Andy already suggested the "divide and conquer" - I would call it step by step and strongly recommend again
- please reread what was said on PWM and reconsider using mure appropriate methods/chip - this does not necessarily mean you HAVE to change, but you have to be sure you are happy with the imperfections of compromise solution
- it is always a good excercise to try to figure out how somebody else's code/program works
- the "bibles" and tutorials are sometimes lengthy and boring. Try rereading more carefully only the relevant sections now
- please come back with your new solutions (and post them inline here for archiving)
