| The problem isn't with the machines, but with "helpful" software vendors who want to show a "beautiful" interface and don't care about how that affects the memory footprint of programs.
 Win7 + a recent version of IE and some other applications, and you have suddenly consumed quite a lot of memory. Then visit a web page that makes use of Flash, and your memory will melt away like icecream in Sahara. |
