| Erik Malund said: c) "talking IAR" to ST FAEs seems to go a bit smoother than "talking Keil" I think it's unreasonable to expect ST FAEs to be experts in all toolchains - so this is probably down to the specific preference/experience of the particular people that you happen to have spoken to? Erik Malund said: Keil does not support the ST checksumming You mean, Keil does not have a built-in STM32 Checksum generator? Keil has facilities for you to provide your own "utilities" like this - so you aren't tied to the way they choose to do it. the place I am curently working, for all practical purpuses, do not allow downloads of programs. Anyone who makes a rule like that with no procedure for considering exceptions is stupid. So you give them the three choices: 1. Use IAR (assuming that their checksum generator does what you need); 2. Use Keil, and write your own utility; 3. Use Keil, and make an exception for downloading this particular utility. Is there some issue about using IAR rather than Keil? |
