There's a well-known football player whose surname is pronounced similarly to my own, though he spells it Urlacher rather than Erlacher.  I figure I'll have no trouble getting reservations at trendy restaurants in weeks when the Chicago football team is in town ... Unfortunately, that doesn't happen due to league organization.  <sigh>  I could go to Chicago I guess ... 
 You should have heard some of the early attempts at pronouncing my name before I changed it when obtaining my U.S. citizenship. The first name, Ulrich, was a problem, too. RE  |
