 Given the level of technical expertise of the security staff at airports, I have my doubts whether this is really a good idea. (And these things will probably "disappear" if they're in your checked luggage. :( ) I flew back and forth about a half-dozen times last year with a Pelican case full of microphones. This case was ALWAYS selected for extra special inspection. Most of the inspectors have never seen a microphone that does not look like the standard SM58. A couple asked, "Are you a recording guy?" Only one asked what band I was working for. The Pelican also has a couple of rolls of gaffer tape. Because I can subdue a terrorist with a roll of gaff tape. No shit! -a  |
