Yes, I know the suggestion is about a decade too late, but is there any possibility of some kind of an MCS-351 series (ie: full 32-bit and better than XA/251) MCU in the future? Later versions could then have hardware MPEG or DSP engines added to the core... Oh well, one can only dream. I seem to recall that someone (I think it was Jez) was working on an XA replacement, but could not find the forum reference as it was an obscure one... BTW: Were NXP (aka: Philips) pushing the XA series (which they appear to keep seperate from their 8051 product line) at all? Valentin |
