Are you sure your way is easier???? At 100KHz??? Are you suggesting to read voltage drop or current waveform at 100KHz synchronously across a series resistor and the load , then calculate Z=V/I then compare phase of excitation voltage waveform with current waveform and extract phase information? Digitally?
