We have a legal limit of max. 3 months of probation here (I'd guess this is one of the things which remained from the communists). Richard has a point - in a bigger company, one can sit quietly and get unnoticed by the management for about this time; and as it takes two months notice to lay him off, it's quite likely one sits there for half a year doing virtually nothing...
 I've seen some of the more gifted ones acting this way for even a couple of years... JW  |
