You probably wouldn't put modbus tcp/ip in your microcontrollers. You would probably use fibre optic ethernet for the backbone between floors of a building and use modbus tcp/ip -> RS485 converters on each floor and run copper to your controllers. You controllers would run modbus RTU. I've not done Much with BacNet but I would suspect it would be similar - most thigs run an ethernet backbone these days.  |
